My little sunshine!

Life getting complicated

I'm trying to figure out if I want to apply for a job that would send me back to work full time.  Being a part time teacher and mom is wonderful because I get to share my passion for both my job and my daughter with a healthy balance.  Unfortunately, the one and 1/2 income family is a HARD thing to negotiate after being used to a 2 income family.  

There are so many pros and cons to applying for the position that recently came up in our district.  It is a challenging position titled "School Improvement Coordinator."  This job is basically "vice principal" for all intents and purposes at our school.  It is a great opportunity to see the bigger picture of administration and to facilitate positive learning environments for our students.  It is an exciting opportunity to "revamp" staff development and hopefully breathe some fresh air into the curriculum.

So....why  wouldn't I apply?

I'd be at work from 7am-7pm.  

I'd be at work M-F.

I'd be at every board meeting, PBS meeting, PTA meeting and many, many more meetings I probably don't even know about!

I'd miss out on the day to day with Chloe.

I'd be abandoning my teaching partner and going back on my commitment to try this job share for 5 years.

It is highly likely I wouldn't be considered for the position.

Hmmm......

Tough choices.

I guess if you don't put yourself out there, you'll never know how far you can go.

I just don't want to sacrifice a great opportunity.

(that is with my daughter AND/OR my career)
