I have to back up a second and give my husband some credit.
Yesterday (and a few days before that even), I brought up the subject of possibly piercing Chloe's ears in the near future. He was against the idea and said that kids should be able to choose such things for themselves. We had a little discussion about it. I asked, "Would you be mad if I took Chloe to get her ears pierced without you?" Stupid question...I know.
Later, Matt asked me, "So, would you be okay if I took Chloe out tomorrow to get her ears pierced while you are at work?" I (thinking he was being sarcastic) said, "Yeah!" Then he said, "REALLY?" and I said, "Well, I'd prefer it if we went together on a weekend or something."
That was the extent of our discussion.
You can imagine my surprise when I came home today and saw the little diamond studs in my 15 month old's ears.
I guess I learned a very, very valuable lesson today. Maybe 2.
1. Don't be sarcastic when matters of your child are concerned.
2. Don't think that just because you are the Mom, you will have all the say in what happens with your child.
Oh, and the bruised lower lip?
I don't even know really how it happened....at this point....it kindof pales in comparison!
What a day this kid had, what a day!
WOW.....that's just about all I can say right now.
WOW.
